So happy that our first issue of wordlegs is finally here. It’s been a stressful but rewarding month and a half since the idea was conceived. In such a short space of time, we have got a brilliant response, not only from writers but from those wishing to subscribe to the magazine. Thanks to all the individuals, societies, writing powerhouses and university staff who spread the word of our project.
We received work from many young writers with great talent and potential, and from up and coming writers - we are glad to have your experience on board. There are strong and varied writing styles for readers to enjoy.
In this issue, we travel to Israel, the States, to rural Ireland. We go back in time and into dreamscapes. Love, in many of its complicated forms, is contemplated, as is freedom. The cast is plenty.
On a personal note, I’d like to thank Donal Fenwick for sorting out the mailing list and Cathal Sherlock for being a creative and patient webmaster. I am grateful for your help in making this a proper thing, for actually giving all these words legs! (Lame pun? Maybe, but I’ll keep going anyway…)
